The loft is situated in Ghent, close to the railway station (Ghent St-Pieters, a 5 minutes walk). Starting here, you can easily reach all important cities in Belgium. The train to Brussels will take you there in 30 minutes.
The city centre of Ghent is a 15 minutes walk. There is an important tram- and busstop 50m from the loft to bring you to the city centre if you prefer not to walk and there are several restaurants and shops in the neighbourhoo
The loft is separated from the owners’ house by a courtyard. The loft has a separate entrance and has a different address and housenumber, in case you would like to have domicile here for some time. This way, we guarantee the necessary privacy. The owners are a family with 2 children and they welcome you with great joy.
The living room is like a loft because of the 5m height, the spacious feel and clarity. The windows are oriented towards the south. The total surface area is 65 m² and consist out of a kitchen, a living room and a bathroom with separate toilet. The bedroom is on the mezzanine (12 m²). There is a bed for 2 (180cm) with 2 separate matrasses, yet they make 1 twin bed. Due to the specific construction, there is a strong sense of spaciousness and open feel.
In the city center you will find theatres, an opera house, lots of concert halls and museums (SMAK, STAM, MSK, SAINT BAVO’S CATHEDRAL where you can visit the famous Ghent Altarpiece - Lamb of God - of the van Eyck brothers), cinemas and restaurants. The green lung of Ghent, the Blaarmeersen &
Bourgoyen-Ossemeersen is also nearby. Here you can practise all kinds of sports and enjoy a walk in nature.
The building was fully renovated in 2015, respecting the existing facades that are part of our heritage. The building dates from 1927 and was built by the architect Geo Henderick (1879-1956). He was one of the important architects of Ghent during the interwar period. The original art deco elements can still be seen on the front facade of the house of the owners (Gordunakaai).
